Newsletters from the Principal
April 10, 2019
NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Holy Week is coming up quickly. Sunday is Palm Sunday and Thursday is the beginning of The Triduum (the three days from the Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper to the end of Easter Sunday). This marks the most important time of the Church year. During the Easter Triduum, we celebrate the death and Resurrection of Jesus. I hope all of you plan to take your children to church to take part some or all the celebrations at this very holy time.
Many of our students have expressed an interest in creating opportunities for our students to help save our environment.
The “A Spoon from Home Is Good” is the brainchild of a group of 4th graders who would like to see if we can cut down on the number of plastic utensils we use during lunch. They are kicking off their campaign with this newsletter and enclosed flyer! Help us out! Send in reusable utensils with your children! Our world and our students will thank you.
RICE BOWL RESULTS
The final tally is in for the Operation Rice Bowl! We will be sending the Catholic Relief Services a check for $1,616.00! Our “Counting Day” was a Blast. The grades 3-6th students were very helpful in assisting our preschool – 2nd grade students in counting their change! Our school really shines on occasions like this. Everyone working together, sharing the work and making a positive impact on the lives of others.
GOLF TOURNAMENT DATE CHANGE!
The tournament is NOW scheduled for
FRIDAY, MAY 31
Plans are coming together for the 17th annual Seton Open at Shadow Lake. If you would like to help out please contact the office. We’d love to have you. Register to play golf or just join us for the dinner. Either way it’s a great time!
STATIONS OF THE CROSS
In preparation for Holy Week, our 5th graders will be performing the living stations for our school community and guests on tomorrow, Thursday, at 1:15. Each station will be performed by a different set of students. This should be a very moving and memorable event. Please join us if you can!
MASS WITH BISHOP MATANO
Thank you to the kindergarten and 6th grade for leading us in a memorable mass with BISHOP MATANO. So many people have commented to me about the wonderful faith-filled community we have at Seton! Thank you also to all parents, grandparents, and parishioners who joined us for this special occasion.
Madelyn Goetz was awarded the McAuley Scholarship at Mercy! Congratulations Maddie!
I’m excited to announce that Mr. Mike Demlein has accepted the position as our PE teacher! Many parents know him from the Monroe Ave YMCA! We are all excited to have Mr D. with us and are looking forward to what he has planned for field days!
We say good bye and well wishes to Mr. Clemenson today. He will be missed by all. Mr. C., we wish you luck and happiness in all you do! You will always be in our prayers.
Thank you Stacy Pensgen, from Channel 8, for coming to visit our preschool today! Our preschool has been studying the weather and has created a TV weather set in Mrs. Stafford’s class! Stacy came in to collaborate with her fellow weather people!

JA IN A DAY
JA in a Day is quickly coming up! It’s a great day for parents, grandparents and business professionals from our community to come to school and spend the day working with classes to foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills, using experiential learning to inspire students to dream big and reach their potential. We are still in need of some volunteers! Please know volunteers are never left alone with the class. The teachers are always in the room to lend assistance and there is training before you even begin. If you or someone you know can come and spend the day with us it would be greatly appreciated! Please contact Katie Brzezinski at email@example.com to volunteer.
