NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

4/24/19

Welcome back after Spring break! I hope everyone had a relaxing few days as we now gear up for the end of the year! This past Monday was Earth Day and so, as a school, we began the week thinking about how we can help our earth. We all agree that we can all do something to address our climate challenge. Enclosed are 40 ideas that I encourage every family to examine for simple strategies that you can adopt. Let’s work together to help our earth.

ENVIRONMENTAL CAMPAIGN

The “A Spoon from Home Is Good” is off to a good start! Our 4th graders are leading the charge to see if we can cut down on the number of plastic utensils we use during lunch. Help us out! Send in reusable utensils with your children! Our world and our students will thank you.

GOLF TOURNAMENT DATE CHANGE!

The tournament is NOW scheduled for

FRIDAY, MAY 31

Plans are coming together for the 17th annual Seton Open at Shadow Lake. If you would like to help out please contact the office. We’d love to have you. Look for detail to register to play golf or to just join us for the dinner. Either way it’s a great time!

PLAYGROUND PROGRESS

Thank you to the playground committee for all of the hard work they put in over the break! Our playhouses are looking spectacular! More up-dates are in the works. If you would like to help, let the office know.

PLAYGROUND DAYS

Speaking of playgrounds, our marketing committee has been busy planning Playground gatherings at area playgrounds. Check out the enclosed flyer and stop in to help them share the good news of our wonderful school!

KNIGHT OF COLUMBUS

The Knights of Columbus Council 11411, are holding a “Spring Fling at the Derby” on May 4th! All proceeds benefit our school scholarship fund. This money directly benefits our families in need of tuition assistance. Please consider joining in on the fun of watching the Derby live! See the enclosed flyer.

JA IN A DAY

JA is all set for this Friday! We are all excited to spend the day with our JA volunteers. Thank you in advance to Katie Barnum and all the parents who are giving their time to treat us to a day of JA! Junior Achievement is a wonderful program that fosters work-readiness, entrepreneurship, financial literacy skills, and uses experiential learning to inspire students to dream big and reach their potential. Without our dedicated volunteers we would not have the opportunity to experience this program.

AMERICAN CREED GRANT

Monday Jen Byrnes, Fiona McGoldrick’s mom, came into 6th grade to lead a class discussion on what it means to be an American and the values we all share. This was part of a grant from the American Library Association. Thank you Jen for including our students in this wonderful opportunity. More information can be found at the link below. https://apply.ala.org/americancreed/

YEARBOOK AD INFORMATION

It’s time to order your yearbook! Don’t miss out. The deadline is Friday May 3rd! This year, only online orders will be accepted. Yearbook order information is included in the Brown Envelope!

Due to a conflict with First Communion Practice, we will

Re-schedule the PTA meeting to:

Wednesday, May 8th at 7:00pm.

LIVE STREAMING THE ROSARY

On Wednesday May 29th at 1:30, our 3rd, 4th, and some 6th graders will be performing a living Rosary! It will be livestreamed on u-tube! The whole school will join in to support them. Come join us for this memorable event or join us virtually! More details will be coming soon.

Is your child growing out of their uniform? Seton’s Used Uniform Committee has a deal for you! Fill out the enclosed order form and send it in to school. Ginny and Meg will fill your order and send them home via kid-mail. Check out the order form enclosed.

FIELD DAYS VOLUNTEERS

Field days will be here before we know it! Consider coming in to help us out and/or sending in snacks for the kids. More information will be coming home soon.

Mercy Awards

Congratulations to Ruby DeAscentiis, Caelyn Ford, Katie Klee, and Zibby Krutell! They were all recognized for their exceptional achievement on the Mercy entrance exam! Bravo ladies! You do us proud.
