Off To A Great Start!

Thank you for a wonderful beginning to the new school year. On behalf of the entire staff and faculty at Seton, I would like to extend a special “Thank You!” to the PTA president and vice president, Danielle Brown and Stacey Shea and all other parents. Because of you our school year started so smoothly! Also thanks for putting on a wonderful brunch for the school staff during our beginning of the year meeting. I can say with certainty that this does not happen in all of the schools. It is such a great way to begin the school year! Thank you, also, to Diane Herrick and her entire squad of Welcome Back Picnic helpers! I was happy to see so many families join the fun and enjoy the great food and companionship

Seton Marathon

The Annual Seton Marathon for grades K-6 is set for Thursday, October 4th. Our kickoff prayer service will take place in the gymnasium at 9:00 a.m. The modified Preschool Marathons will be held on October 2nd and 3rd. Check with your PK teacher for details! These are all wonderful volunteer opportunities! Whether it’s the full school or the preschool marathon, come meet other parents and help us out! If you have not signed up to help and wish to do so, (more help is always needed) call the main office for contact information. Pledge sheets, permission slips and volunteer sign-up sheets were sent home this past Friday. Check your child’s backpack if you have not received them. If you still don’t find them check with your classroom teacher.

Opening Prayer Service & Opening Mass

We began the year with our opening day prayer service. It set the tone for our school community as being one of kindness and prayer. Thank you for teaching your children to be such sweet, caring individuals!

Opening Mass will be held this Friday at 8:30 a.m. Our 6th grade class will serve as our mass leaders! This past Friday we went as a school community over to church to practice going to mass. I believe that it is unfair to expect children to just “know” what is expected of them. We practiced entering church, genuflecting, kneeling up tall, processing to communion, the sign of peace …. The list goes on! I think we are all going to be delighted at the wonderful behavior of the children this Friday during our opening mass. As always, you are welcome to sit with your child and their class. Our next school mass will take place on Friday, October 12th, at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Our 5th graders will lead us! Please join us if you can.

PTA Meeting

The first Parents Association meeting will be held on this Wednesday, September 19th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Seton Staff Room. Please join us and help us to plan our busy year of events for the children and our families.

Lunch Monitors Needed

Please note that lunch monitors are still needed for our lunch program! Sr. Carolyn has done a great job organizing the program but still needs your help! Please call the office, speak with Sr. Carolyn ( or visit our signup genius to see what times are still available or to put your name on a substitute list. lunch1

OLOL + ST Ann Pet Blessing

Our church cluster will hold their annual pet blessing at St. Anne Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 6th. This is a great opportunity for the children to bring their favorite pet from home for a blessing and to learn more about God’s loving care for creation. The ceremony will be brief and there will be a little something extra for those participating. Please consider taking part in this wonderful ceremony.

Sacramental Preparation

As we begin the school year, please remember that all sacramental preparation is done in your home parish.

The Diocese of Rochester’s Policies for the Administration of the Sacraments states: “… Sacramental preparation programs of Baptism, First Penance, First Communion, and Confirmation are parishbased”.

Please contact your home parish for more information on First Communion and Reconciliation classes.
