May is the month for giving thanks to all who work in our school. This past Thursday, we honored Mr. Brown at our St. Joseph’s the Worker Day Prayer Service. Yesterday we honored Nurse Anne for Nurse’s Day and this week is Teacher Appreciation Week! This is a great chance for your children to say thank you to all of their teachers! Many have brought in flowers from their garden and/or handmade cards. Our teachers know they are well loved but when a student does something a little extra it really means a lot!

In addition, thank you to everyone for making Principal’s Day so special for me. I was truly touched by your generosity.

Congratulations to Julia Milano and Mila Kopacz! They were named the 2019-2020 winners of the Elizabeth Ann Seton Scholarship and the St. Mary’s Scholarship, respectively, for next school year! The committee had a very difficult decision because there were so many outstanding essays to choose from. Thank you to all of the students who work so diligently on their entries!

Friday we were treated to our annual May Crowning! Our 6th graders did a great job leading us in our prayer service. Juliana Ferrara was honored to be our May Queen this year.

Thank you to all who sent in flowers to make our May Alter more special.

Aylon Sellers (3C), Delanie Soileau (6K), Andy Caroci (KT), and Silvester Rono (2M) were all named Student of the Month at the May Crowning Prayer Service. All are great examples of Seton students who work hard and show kindness to others. Congratulations!

Friday night we were treated to our first ever Seton’s Got Talent Show! Rachel Stoner and Ioana Jamanis were our hosts for the evening and kept things running smoothly! If you see any of the following students congratulate them on their performance: Owen Compisi, Julia Milano, Riley Hawes, Caelyn Ford, Adelaide Matzky, Dean Giess, Tessa Tombs, Abigail Hasman, Audrey Sadowski, Blaise Weidmann, Juliana Ferrara, Josie Fleming, Lizzy Creary and of course Rachel Stoner & Ioana Jamanis! Thank you also to everyone who came to support our performers!

We have gotten word that again, our students are doing very well when they move on to their future schools! McQuaid had sent us their honor roll and 2 Seton grads recently were in starring roles in the Siena production of Singing in the Rain! Congratulations to Paige Hinton and Sean Benacci and all other Seton grads involved in the play!

The students in Willy Wonka Jr have been working hard to get down their lines and learn the dances and their songs! The performances will be June 6th, 7th, and 8th. We hope everyone can come enjoy the show!

The Knights of Columbus Council 11411, helds their “Spring Fling at the Derby” on May 4th! All proceeds benefit our school scholarship fund. The money directly benefits our families in need of tuition assistance. Thank you to all who joined in on the fun of watching the Derby live!

Plans are coming together for the 17th annual Seton Open. It is scheduled for Friday, May 31 at Shadow Lake! Register to play golf or just join us for the dinner. Either way it’s a great time!

Over the weekend Ruby & Marco DeAscentiis and Josie & Julia Fleming held a garage sale in their neighborhood and donated all of the profit to Seton! Thanks you to the DeAscentiis and Fleming families for teaching your children to be generous!

Last Sunday a playground day was held at Eastmoreland Park! There are 3 more events scheduled. On May 19th, families will be at Ellwanger & Barry Park and at School 46 Playground from 3:30-4:30. We are excited to be involved in the Diocese of Rochester Rosary Project, which started Wednesday, February 6th, and continues throughout the spring. This project is designed to unite our 18 schools in prayer – the Holy Rosary – as we offer our intentions for our schools and parishes throughout the Diocese. Every Wednesday (with the exception of school breaks) we will livestream the Rosary from one of our great DOR Catholic Schools! Seton will lead the Rosary on May 29th at 1:30pm. The video will be livestreamed on YouTube. We invite everyone to join us in prayer at 1:30 pm as we pray together for our students, staff, and leaders.
